What vinyl colors are available for porch enclosures?
Our vinyl comes in four tints: Clear, Light Gray, Dark Gray and Bronze.
What frame colors are available?
Frames come in five standard colors: White, Tan, Clay, Bronze and Black.
What types of insect screen do you offer?
Choose from standard fiberglass mesh or our premium screen.
Do I need a spreader bar in the center of the vents?
Yes. Every unit over 30" wide requires a spreader bar. On units under 30" wide the bar is optional. If you don't want one, note it on your order.
Do twin (TW) and triple (TR) units come pre-assembled?
No. Twin and triple units are mulled together in the field during installation.
How do I determine the hinge side of a door?
For both inswing and outswing doors, the hinge side is always determined from the outside looking in.
Are all doors installed from the exterior?
No. Inswing doors are installed from the interior.
Sizing
What are the minimum and maximum sizes for vertical slider units?
Vertical slider units can be as large as 48" x 102" or 60" x 96". The minimum size is 12" x 24" for a 3-vent unit.
What is the frame depth of a vertical slider?
All vertical sliders have a 1 7/8" frame depth that recesses into the opening.
How wide is the mounting flange?
All Porch Conversions units have a 7/8" front mounting flange.
What door sizes are available?
Standard doors are 32", 34" or 36" wide by 80" tall. Custom doors are available up to 42" x 96".
What is the shortest leg on a trapezoid unit?
The minimum leg height on a trapezoid unit is 6".
Ordering
How do I order Porch Conversions windows and doors?
Fill out our order form. It asks for everything we need to fulfill your order quickly.
Can I make changes after placing an order?
Every order starts as a quote that we send you to review. Once you confirm it, the quote becomes an order and can no longer be changed, so check your sizes and options carefully before confirming.
What do TW and TR mean on the order form?
TW is a twin unit: two window units joined by one mull. TR is a triple unit: three window units joined by two mulls.
Care & cleaning
How do I clean vinyl porch windows?
Use vinyl cleaner and preservative, Woolite and water, or Murphy's Oil Soap and water (about one capful per gallon). Dry with a soft cloth. Never use harsh chemicals such as ammonia.
What should I do if the vents are hard to slide?
Clean the tracks, then lubricate them with a dry silicone-based lubricant.
Warranty
What is the Porch Conversions warranty?
Porch Conversions enclosures are covered as follows:
- Aluminum frame and sash: free of defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the windows.
- Powder-coated finish: warranted against blistering, peeling, cracking or chipping from normal use for 10 years from the date of installation, to the original purchaser.
- Vinyl: free of defects that materially obstruct vision, and of cracking, for 10 years from the date of delivery.
- Screen and moving parts: 2 years from the date of delivery, materials only.
